The comedy of the GOP race:

If you haven’t seen it a quick update on the race is basically that Mitt is still leading overall with Cain finding new found popularity and Newt picking up some new life too. Overall I find it to be funny and this video shows why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYXlIYNNGgU&sns=fb

My thing is no matter how well Ron Paul does the media does there best to ignore him, although they have been unable to ignore that he did very well in a recent poll in Iowa basically tying him for first place. This of course is very good news. Everything has shown on a consist basis that outside of mainstream media that Ron Paul is actually very popular. He has won more straw polls then anyone, he has more small donors then anyone including active duty military, he has done very well in some state polls such as Texas, in the blogsphere he has more positive information said about him then anyone else and he is generally more searched for and popular on youtube and google then most other candidates. The only thing he seems to usually fall behind in is national polls and mainstream media although I think they can only ignore him for so long. With Ron Paul officially in a good place to win Iowa I think we can bet on a very interesting time there.

I ask that if you’re a Ron Paul supporter that you please do what you can to help him. The grassroots support is working with him now polling basically for first in Iowa and second place in New Hampshire. Winning in these early states can help propel him to victory in the later ones. Here is something I had put on facebook on how you can help support him.

“Now here are the best ways to support Ron Paul. The most obvious one is to donate directly to the campaign whenever you can: http://www.ronpaul2012.com/

Of course like any campaign they need money to buy supplies, pay for transportation, buy advertisement, TV, radio and other such things. So the more money they have flowing in the better. So this always comes first and foremost.

Second is to donate to the Revolution PAC and something like their Supervoter Bomb: http://supervoterbomb.com/

If you haven’t heard of them the Revolution PAC is basically an independent group formed to support Ron Paul. They have no official contact with the campaign and by law are not allowed to work with them. They have been doing stuff to support Ron Paul such as commercials, online ads and now letters to early states such as Iowa and New Hampshire. Donating here is second in priority to the main campaign but still helps people so if you can throw even a little bit money to these guys it does help.

Third and final is the phone from home. http://phone.ronpaul2012.com/v/login.php?return_url=%2Fv%2F Money is important but if you can’t donate or even if you can please consider doing the phone from home. It’s very easy and user friendly. All you do is call a switch which dials out for you so you can call from any telephone. This is crucial since Ron Paul needs the grassroots and volunteer effort to reach out and let voters or potential voters know about him. Especially in the face of the media black out which he as been dealing with. So if you can do any or all of these things please do so, share this and spread the word.”

Also if you live outside of the country please do what you can to support him as well. Either through donations if possible of even just spreading the word. The more word of mouth and on the internet there is and the more attention the better. Ron Paul winning here in America is the biggest win not only for us but for the rest of the world too as we will have a more peaceful USA as an example for others with a more stable economy to trade with other countries and help create more wealth, jobs and prosperity.

Other GOP contenders:

Also I briefly want to touch on the others running for president specially Cain and Newt. Now I find these two interesting because less then four months ago both of them had horrible numbers and no one believed they would get anywhere. If you check the polls from back then they were doing bad, worse then Ron Paul. And while Paul has had consistent numbers which have been slowly rising these two basically shot up almost overnight around the same time when the media began to report on them more. Kind of funny. Now what are my problems with them. Honestly I have nothing against them personally but I just do not believe they would make good presidents.

Cain has failed to show anything that he can be hard on the federal reserve or do anything to control them and their run away printing and spending of money. He only seems knowledgeable on taxes along with domestic problems but when faced with questions of foreign problems he draws a blank.

I think my problem here is if you watch the video Cain seems to struggle with a deer in the headlights look like he isn’t really sure of an answer. I understand after this and most of the time his view of our current wars and new ones is usually that he would defer that to his military advisers. This worries me because we’re talking about the same people who advised Bush and Obama.

The ones who have us in the these seemingly endless wars right now. I’m very disappointed with Obama and how he has handled everything. After years we’re finally pulling most of the troops out of Iraq but we’re still going to leave over 5,000 mercenaries there, along with a few thousand soldiers and thousands of people to run the embassy. So we’ll still have a considerable presence there military and otherwise. The inability of Cain to simply admit that these wars are a bad idea at best worry’s me greatly along with the fact that he seems to lack a clear opinion.

I’ve always been doubtful of Newt and his popularity has given many reasons showing him weak on certain stances such as national healthcare. But worst of all there seem to be multiple reports showing that Newt did a lot of insider for multiple large corporations to help win them favor on capital hill. On top of this I have a problem with his pro war stance seeing as he seems to be perfectly fine with attacking Iran if need be.

Speaking of Iran I will touch on that quickly. I hear a lot of people on the internet talk about that we cannot abandon Israel and leave them alone and it’s our duty to help them. But I feel like a lot of people say this without really knowing what they are even saying. Most people do not acknowledge the fact that a lot of this drama with Iran is something we helped to start to begin with. The short version is that back in 1953 the CIA on behalf on the US government helped overthrow the democratically elected leader at the time and impose a new dictatorship who trained under CIA tactics (some of which they learned from Israel) terrorized and oppressed their people and attempted to force Christianity upon them until the 1970s when the people overthrow the government for a new one which is in power until today. The problem here is like most of the middle east the US government has a long history of create problems and causing dislike toward us. Often times instead of acknowledging our role in this we simply say that so many people solely hate us because we’re free and they are not. This video helps illustrate how a lot of people feel.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKfuS6gfxPY

Also this is a short history of the US/Iran: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WVtpao0KSM

The problems have just been kind of ongoing because after the current government came in power Iraq invaded Iran and we supplied Iraq with weapons. And it kind of just goes on. So one can see why people in the middle east often dislike us so much. My problem is this. There are extremists who hate us this I completely agree with. But to believe that everyone hates us simply for our freedom is foolish and to ignore these endless wars or things like the ongoing drone attacks we’re doing in Pakistan right now which are killing innocent people is to ignore that all of this motivates people to join these extremists and fight against us.

Back to Israel I know my view is not a popular view I do not believe that our being such a strong supporter of Israel is healthy for them or us. We take sides in conflict, put Muslim nation in turmoil which spurs terrorist to hate us and the Israel government in many ways becomes dependent on us for financial and military backing and see’s war as there best option. I believe Israel should manage their own borders and if they must resort to warfare then I understand. But Israel has the largest military in the middle east and are also believed to have nuclear weapons. So this belief that we need to protect Israel is silly. All we basically do is act like a crutch for their government and when we collapse financially unless we have real change we’ll be unable to support them. Instead Israel should be able to depend on themselves and find solutions which work best with them to deal with their neighbors. The US has no business going thousands of miles to impose our will or our ideas of peace and freedom on others.

Preparing for hard times:

While I have mentioned it before I do believe that unless Ron Paul gets in office we’re in for difficult economic times. There are many signs of the damage being done to society due to the lack of jobs and money and things will likely only get more difficult. Anyone aside from Ron Paul might buy us time but unless we end the wars and the endless printing of money we’ll never see a true turn around. So I do suggest that everyone makes plans just in case if things ever get difficult. There are many ways to do this. While I am unsure if stock piling supplies is a good idea since they will only last so long I think some basic good ideas are some basic things. One is to buy and own a few weapons such a a gun. You never know when you might need it but it’s always good to be armed just in case anyone threatens you or your home. The other is to buy some gold or silver. The reason why I say this is because if you look at the crisis in places like Greece right now many people are resorting to bartering again. And in rough economic times people will often barter in gold and silver since they have real world value. So I would suggest collecting a bit. That aside gold and silver have and I think likely will continue to see a steady increase in value as time goes on. The only thing too is probably to make sure you have some kind of skill or skills which can be put to practical use. While I do not automatically assume that we will see the worst I do believe that something like another depression is very real and possible if something isn’t done in the near future to get us out of the economic slump which we’re in. That aside I would also suggest other investments. There are many, stocks, bonds, options, savings. And for those I’ll suggest to do your own research and find what works best for you.
