People don’t realize it (or don’t want to admit it) but change is coming in terms of not only the Republican Party/GOP but also for American politics in general. The reason because of this is largely thanks to the Ron Paul movement if you will. The reason why I’m bringing this up is because after Ron Paul’s announcement there was a lot of confusion with some positive and negative reactions. Mostly we’re positive now because as I outlined in my last post Ron Paul is not giving up and recent victories and delegate wins are proof of this. But one thing which I saw someone mention which has a lot of truth to it was his explanation that no matter what we cannot give up. There is a lot of truth to this which I’ll go about explaining. Basically our country is truly at a difficult point right now. We have the longest running wars since the Vietnam war, more military engagements then ever, more spending and more foreign aid then ever along with a shrinking work force, record high and long unemployment and a weakening currency. Overall the outlook for the immediate future is not a good one and I do honestly believe that if we don’t find some real change soon (as in Ron Paul election) that things will get much worse before they better. Perhaps even to a point which might be to far gone. But I’ll admit that even though things will get worse I do believe that in the long run as long as we keep getting people to fight for what’s right they can improve in the long run. Just without someone like Ron Paul in office things will be very difficult. Really the point is though that things are changing slowly but surely. I want Ron Paul to win, I think he can, and I’m pushing for that more then anything. And if he doesn’t I might honestly consider moving out of the country. Truthfully though it won’t be the end because as the man he has said this is about more then just him becoming president. It’s about spreading the idea of freedom, peace and liberty to all of America. You see there have always been those fighting against corrupt, big government. Many years ago when we had a good economy people like Ron Paul, Harry Browne, and other people who were libertarians or who followed such a school of thought predicted all of things we were doing then such as the increasing of military spending, printing of money, social welfare would eventually be to much and lead to what we have today. But people ignored or dismissed them. Now as the problems grow ten, twenty, thirty fold people can no longer ignore these problems and a lot of people who support Ron Paul are young people who are tired of the bad future we’re being handed. This isn’t just a presidential campaign but a revolution which is going to endure and grow for years on end and will likely reshape the Republican party and American politics. Right now it’s already in the process. Because as the presidential race happens so do local elections all over the country. And in response all of the country people who are supporters of the Paul movement are coordinating, organizing, working together to get limited government people into important positions in the Republican party and to run for government office. Already in multiple states such as Iowa, Nevada and many others Paul supporters make up the bulk of the new leadership at local levels. And this is what matters most because it’s the many smaller parts which make up the entire body. The ultimate goal is to remake the Republican party from within to a truly conservative limited government party which will fight for the people. An excellent site to check below liberty candidates where you can find a list of people who are like minded people on small conservative government running for office this year. Together we can get people like Ron Paul into all areas of government and work to restore America to something more like what our founding fathers wanted. I hope and pray it will be this year. But if not then slowly but surely we’ll reshape the Republican Party and American politics as a whole to what it should be.
