Now I want people to understand I personally have no problem at all with Israel or feel that anything bad should happen to them. I do however believe that their problems are their own to deal with and not the business of the USA. As a rule I’m mostly against all foreign aid, foreign assistance, military, since it’s using tax payer money to help out others when it could be helping out people at home instead. Often the money is never used for the people it’s supposed to. Despite what some people claim Israel has always received more foreign aid then pretty much any country.

The only countries to potentially receive more were Iraq and Afghanistan and that was only after the US invaded both countries and began pumping money into them. Aside from the fact that the entire practice seems counterproductive since we give foreign aid to countries which dislike Israel such as Egypt. Recently Congress just passed a legislation renewing our commitment to give them money in the way of up to 9 billion dollars for 2013.

I know that Israel is in no way a poor or dying country so I’m not sure why in a time when we need to cut costs and terrorism is probably at a low as any real threat we’re giving them more money to invest in themselves. Money that the government doesn’t really have. A lot of people don’t realize it but that US Government also has a Memorandum of Agreement between the Governments of the United States of America and Israel which basically is an agreement stating that if Israel were to ever suffer an oil shortage that no matter what the US is obligated to supply them with oil to sustain them even if it interferes with or causes problems for the people of the USA.

Like I said I don’t agree with foreign aid simply because money like that should be kept at home not the government taking tax payer money to try and help other governments. More to the point that money rarely helps the actual average person and I have a feeling that’s largely true in this country as well. I have nothing against this country but all of this foreign assistance, promises, money, military aid and such needs to end.

The country is currently past the broke point with our credit score being downgraded and our debts running at all time highs. Inflation is kicking in and currently the only thing that the Federal Reserve can do is print money in a vain attempt to keep down interests rates and in turn increase our rapid inflation. One thing I would like to know is why so few people point out aid like this in millions or billions of dollars we’re handing out and what happens when we run out of money to give. Either way I guess only time will tell. But the fact that Congress let this go through so easily without any type of modification to the bill or anything shows where there priorities are. You can find details on the bill by looking up information for the United States Israel Enhanced Security Cooperation Act of 2012 and feel free to let me know what you think.
